Black

Name
Of The Playwright
Rebecca Renee Black born June 21, 1997 is an American
singer, dancer, and actress who gained extensive media attention with the 2011 single "Friday".
The song was
co-written and produced by Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson of Ark
Music Factory. After the video went viral on YouTube and other social media sites,
"Friday"
was derided by many music critics and viewers, who dubbed it "the worst
song ever”. Between its upload date on February 10, 2011 and its temporary
removal from YouTube on June 16, the video received around 167 million views,
gaining Black international attention as a viral star. Black re-uploaded it to
her own channel three months later.

General Impression Of The Play
Some Of the Viewers Want to Erase the Movie in Media or Some Says Thet They feels very bad for her! That song sucked
horribly but she's only 13 and all these people are criticizing her in
unnecessarily harsh ways. She sounds like a robot, but that's the recording
company's doing, not heir’s. And the lyrics are just...weird...but that's not
her fault either-she didn't write the song.

Summary
In the opening verse,
Ms. Black introduces the idea of choice. But what choice, if any, is she
authorized to make? The educational system has decreed that she must wake up at
seven in the morning. Ms. Black goes on to list the things she “got to” do.
What are the consequences of not being “fresh”? Is it so unfathomable that a
girl may want to stay in bed or eat cereal from the box? And why must her
morning sustenance be cereal? Ms. Black runs through the monotony of the
morning that her family, emotionally numb after years of routine, so readily
accepts. While she yearns to end this life sentence to apathy, time inevitably
continues “tick in’” like a bomb about to explode. As Rebecca, She wakes up and goes to school, meeting her friends on
the way. Rebecca Black through
the means of an annotated daily calendar and learn that her world is not,
entirely, unlike ours. Sunday is full of studying. Monday has a test. Tuesday,
more homework. Wednesday, music practice. Thursday, essay due. Truly an
oppressive, Orwellian dystopia. Yet as things seem bleakest, FRIDAY! In the evening, after debating whether to sit in the
front or back of a convertible, Black and her friends ride
the car to a party at 7:45 pm. Patrice Wilson appears near the end
of the song to deliver a short rap. Despite assuring us that we know
something, it is entirely unclear what it is that we are supposed to have
“got”. Rebecca’s diction becomes increasingly circular and mundane, as if she
is reassuring herself of something,
but doesn’t quite know what that something is. Her robotic repetition of the
word “fun” returns, and she even goes so far as to remind herself to “think
about fun”, although it is becoming increasingly clear that her oppressive
society has already done the damage: she no longer knows what fun is. In her
frantic need to assure herself everything is okay, she takes the effort to
mention her friend seated to her right, but neglects the person to her left,
leaving their relationship open to considerable scrutiny. Black's father's house with friends and family as extras, and requiring multiple takes over 12 hours. Some
of those extras became stars in their own right, her friends Bennie Crinkle,
Amanda Cooper and Hayley Grout. Ark Music, according to Black's parents,
cautioned them and her that they should not expect her to become famous. Black
hoped that her friends and family would enjoy watching the video on YouTube and
that it would perhaps help her to later begin a singing career.
